Visit by RNSA's Patron and Admiral, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal

During the visit, The Princess Royal met RN personnel and their families, as well as supporters of RNSA’s work to make sailing and its benefits as accessible as possible to the Naval community.

The Royal Naval Sailing Association (RNSA) welcomed Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to the Andrew Simpson Centre, Portsmouth, on 7 September 2026, where she saw the delivery of RNSA’s Sail Together programme.

The SOR is up and running for 2026. With Sovereign Sail Navy unavailable, the team are racing a Ker 39 alongside the 2 x JSASTC Hallberg Rassys. First up is the race to Dartmouth.

The RNSA IRC team got off to a flying start to the offshore phase of the Services Offshore Regatta, managing a short training sail before the race start on the Squadron Line at Cowes on Tuesday morning.

Weymouth Maritime Heritage - MV Enchantress

An exciting new partnership for RNSA as it looks to help support the Naval heritage that is so important to our local communities.

During a ceremony held aboard MV Enchantress, Phil Warwick, Chief Executive of the Royal Naval Sailing Association (RNSA), formally presented the Association's crest to Kevin Jones on behalf of Weymouth Maritime Heritage Community Interest Company, owners of the historic vessel, which is operated by Coastline Cruises.

Many congratulations to Sovereign Sail Navy's skipper, Emma Barry, and her crew for winning the Pompey Cup over the weekend. RNSA members Malcolm Roberts and Becky Walford were also worthy winners.

After an absence of many years, the Portsmouth Clubs Regatta made a highly successful return over the weekend of 19 – 21 June, bringing together sailors from across the eastern Solent for a memorable celebration of competitive racing and camaraderie.

RNSA's North Sails Cowes Week Party - 3 August

We are excited to announce that this year we will be holding our Cowes Week Party on the Balcony at Cowes Yacht Haven on Monday 3 August, from 1800.

It will be an après sailing format with casual seating and a bar area reserved for RNSA members right at the heart of the regatta entertainment. The nominal end time is 2000, but there will be no rush to leave.

RN Windsurfing - what's not to like!

The RN Windsurfing Team Training Camp is underway in Vassiliki, Greece. RNSA is delighted to be supporting this important event.

The team split into skill-level groups and received expert coaching from the Nielson team throughout the day. In the afternoon, "Eric" the famous katabatic wind arrived, bringing gusty and challenging conditions that tested everyone's skills on the water.

RNSA and DEFI Wind

The RN Windsurfing Team have just returned from 8 days in Gussain to compete in the famous Defi wind endurance race. This a race like no other and can be considered the Fastnet of windsurfing.

This is not a race for the faint hearted, its only run when the wind is above 20 knots and usually in considerably more wind.
